Beyond Ceasefires: The Deeper Meaning and Value of Peace

To actualize peace in our world, we must first understand the meaning and value of peace. Peace is not a cease fire or a compromise. It is not something that might ensue after a dispute or conflict has run its course. And it is not something to settle for. These are limited and misconstrued interpretations of peace. We can claim much more.

Peace does not naturally ensue from conflict because conflict is a product of fear, scarcity, vengeance, lack or other contracted and lower human emotional energy. Peace is the antithesis of such energies and intentions. Peace is a manifestation of the more powerful and expanded energy and intentions premised in love. Peace is not what happens because war ends. Peace is what happens when individuals re-know and transmute lower energy into something higher.

Peace is also not something that we create or compel in our external world in order to benefit from it as individuals. Rather, peace is something that we create from within and then out-picture into our reality. The methodology for peace is a share for another day, but for now it is important for humans to comprehend the meaning and value of peace so that we can claim it for ourselves.

Peace is the energy experienced when we feel abundant and free of fear. It is the space from which we make our highest and best decisions. When we make our choices from fear, scarcity or lack, we stay limited, small and questioning. But when we operate from a sense of peace, we can flow more effortlessly and harness our creative potential. When in peace we can more easily manifest abundance and prosperity. Peace is more than being without conflict. Peace is inner freedom. To know peace is to know our true selves. It also creates the capacity to see the best versions of others. To operate from a sense of peace is to be in alignment with the highest and best versions of ourselves.

The methodology for contributing to peace in this world is not an externalized focus on others. Rather, creating peace in the world requires the more courageous undertaking of knowing and creating peace from within. We must know the value and meaning of peace on an experiential level and claim it as individuals before we can actualize it as a collective.

Thus, for now, I invite you to share: what is the meaning and value of peace?
